Hello there mommies.
Last night, after I delivered my orders, I've been longing to start my overdue project:
Soap making by cold process. I'am researching for new recipes to try on and last night on my way back to the parking lot, I drop by at Ansons to buy tools for soap making like hand held mixer. This helps to make the base soap fluffy. I'm planning to do this on weekend.
We mommies wants the safest ingredients that touches our babies skin, right.? That's why I decided to make one for my girl, Jamie. I made numerous research, bought books about different handcrafted soaps and even attended seminars on this. I started with glycerine soaps, with lavender, lemon and peppermint essentials. Let me share with you how I made my "soapie"...
First, You need to know what is a glycerin and what can it do for you ?
Glycerin is an ingredient in oil and fat to make translucent soaps. Glycerin soap helps the skin absorb the moisture in the air, causing it to stay softer. It is quickly dissolves in water, making it easy to wash off. It doesn't leave a film like heavier soaps do. Those who suffer from skin disorders like Psoariasis and eczema will ease their skin condition. Because its gentle on the skin, it can be use d by people of all ages...See the benefits!!!
Alright, here's how to do it.:
What you need: 1 kilo of unscented glycerin soap base (available @ Islas Aromatics; Chem Fragrance) Please email me for contact info; food coloring (that you like! use sparingly); lavander essential oil.
Cut into small pieces;*melt it (You can use double boiler or I used a pyrex glass and directly heat it over burner until liquid) * add & stir your essential oil (for every 1 kilo use 20 drops of essential oil) * pour into mold to harden (I use ice cube tray or any silicon moulds with shapes)
let it harden overnight..Voila!!!!You have your own soap!!!
nice IDEA for christmas gifts!
Here'S MINE:

Cutie Finds at lunch time......
I usually go out during my lunch break. Spent an hour window shopping today in nearby mall. I'm not use to taking naps .
So drag my butt out and look for some CUTIE finds.
And then, I find these....very adorable...
Im a fan of vintagely shabby chic things...
For me this is gorgeous, perfect for showcasing my designs....But I have to shell-out Php4K ++++ (Not bad!!!)
but, I have to save my shells so, I'll have it customised instead ........(I have a very good carpenter in my list)
Then, these cute frames perfect for our loves of our life...these are Php300+++only.
or you can make it to have a personal touch.
Perfect for my next project:: a cork board (1/4 size @ Php50-90) ; a fancy paper like scrapbook paper or a beautiful fabric of your choice + satin ribbon + push pins (you'll gonna find fabric ones in Papemelrotti @ Php35 for a set of 3pcs) + a frame stand (you can find it also at Papemelrotti @ Php30-45 only) + for the frame, you can choose not to have it and just use a fabric ribbon instead (see at carolinas, reginas of Greenhills Shopping Center, or even at national bookstore) and use it as your borders..or if you still have extras, shop at DIY for mouldings or from "FRAMES ALL" for cut to size framing...
So, we can have it at half the price .
See roaming around is not bad at all and gives me a dose of inspiration especially when im running out of it...
